Yorkshire Tea Iced Launch at Excel London
A few weeks ago, I had the fun job of photographing the launch of Yorkshire Tea Iced at Excel in London.
The brief was simple: capture the fun of the day. That meant showing the atmosphere, the people enjoying the product, and all the clever details that made the activation come to life.
I always enjoy events like this because there’s a lot happening, with people chatting, laughing, and genuinely having a good time. My approach is to watch what’s going on, wait for natural moments, and quietly capture the story as it unfolds. Of course, I can never resist setting up a few shots too, like the perfect iced tea pour or a bright close-up of the drinks on the counter. I like that mix between candid and considered; it keeps things authentic but polished.
The event took place entirely indoors, so the lighting was… let’s say challenging! A mix of artificial light and awkward shadows meant it wasn’t as simple as pointing and shooting. It took a bit of technical juggling, using a blend of high ISO and a touch of fill-in flash to keep everything looking bright, fresh and full of life. Those tricky lighting situations are where experience really comes into play; they make the final result even more rewarding.
As always, I found myself drawn to the small touches that tell the story: the textures, colours, and thoughtful details that made the space feel on-brand and full of character. From the signage and props to the branded cups and displays, there was plenty to capture that tied the whole activation together.
Alongside the still photography, I also created a short video to bring the buzz of the day to life — drinks being poured, and people chatting and laughing. Stills and video together really show the full energy of an event like this; you get both the detail and the movement.
I’m a West London-based photographer, working across portraits, food, and product photography, both in studio and on location. Whether it’s a brand activation like this, a portrait session, or a new product launch, my focus is always on creating natural, high-quality images that feel true to the brand. It’s about finding that mix of technical precision and storytelling that makes an image feel alive.
The final gallery for Yorkshire Tea Iced was full of colour and energy, with a combination of candid moments, product details and lifestyle shots that captured the feel of the day perfectly.
If you’re planning a brand event or product launch in London and want professional photography that captures both the atmosphere and the finer details, I’d love to chat.
