Photographing Bec Bradbury’s Spring Menu

I recently photographed the new seasonal menu for Bec Bradbury’s Kitchen — keeping everything bright, minimal, and easy to use across different platforms.

From the start, the goal was to create images that weren’t just beautiful, but practical. Clean compositions, plenty of negative space, and layouts that leave room for text — whether that’s for menus, social content, or future campaigns.

Simple, Considered Styling

We kept the styling neutral and stripped back so nothing distracted from the food. Soft tones, subtle textures, and a consistent palette that lets everything sit together naturally.

Bec used a selection of my stock props and backgrounds, choosing pieces that felt on-brand. A mix of plates added variation without overcomplicating things, and polished wine glasses brought in a clean, elevated finish.

Lighting That Does the Work

Lighting was key to making the dishes stand out.

I used a backlight to give that fresh, airy feel, paired with a softer front-side light at an angle. That combination helps keep the shape and texture of the food really defined — so everything still feels dimensional and considered, not flat.

Built to Be Used

Everything was shot with flexibility in mind. The final images are easy to work with, whether they’re being used for print, web, or social.

Simple, bright, and ready for spring.
